IMM, COLOGNE 2016-FENDI CASA CONTEMPORARY

On the occasion of IMM 2016, the Fendi Casa Contemporary Collection offers living proposals in a perfect balance between minimalism and functionality, enhancing the aesthetics of the designer Toan Nguyen with a modernist interpretation of volumes and essential lines.

Toan Nguyen reinterprets the Fendi Casa codes, celebrating the highest Italian craftsmanship and the most sophisticated savoir-faire, in order to create flexible furniture with a great structure. A harmonious blend of two worlds, living and fashion, influencing each other in a perfect mix of rigor and softness, graphics and color contrasts, always fostering comfort and elegance.

Following this path, Fendi Casa Contemporary defines the paradigm of new geometries for sofas, armchairs, chairs and tables. Iconic solutions that feature balanced lines, where each part becomes a signature yet a functional element, as the game of intersections enhanced by the piping in the new Sloane sofa, or the iconic buckles of the Soho line which secure the structure and define the body of the Blixen chair making it flexible.

The color palette recalls the earth tones: warm and natural shades, going from the quartz gray to lava tone, from cognac to sand, while the pastel shades tone on tone, in contrast or in daring combinations applied on piping and stitching, give depth and refinement.

The Collection enhances the research and experimentation on materials dear to FENDI, mixing precious materials and innovative textures: the leather coatings, declined in various weights and thicknesses, are complemented by solutions in fabric featuring simple and decorated patterns.

Ebony Macassar and Zebrano essences are finished with artisanal craftsmanship for the tops, while metallic elements define structures and design aesthetic details.

THE COLLECTION

SLOANE SECTIONAL SOFA
The Sloane sofa is conceived as a classical solution that features a contemporary design. Its construction is based on a play of contrasting volumes: the wide sofa arms, the chaise longue and the deep seat blend harmoniously with the streamlined seatback and the base. The piping - now adorned with the iconic Selleria stitching - is the distinctive element, by drawing the intersections and outlining an unusual route that mitigates the perception of shapes, celebrating the highest craftsmanship and the maximum attention to details.

HAMPTON SOFA
A modern design defines the proportions of the Hampton sofa. The style, linear yet urban, has comfortable and embracing cushions, in a pleasant contrast with the rigor of the structure realized in fine curved wood, an ideal sofa for a lounge atmosphere. The sofa arms, essential elements of the design, recall an external surface, adding comfort and functionality. Upholstered in leather or pony hair for a more eclectic version, it also features a case element.

SOHO SOFA
Since its launch, the Soho sofa has become an iconic element of the Fendi Casa Contemporary Collection. The structure, simple and elegant, wraps around the maxi cushions, conveying an elegant atmosphere of comfort and refinement. The buckles celebrate the FENDI codes, becoming aesthetic yet functional details by combining the elements of the modular system.

BLIXEN CHAIR
Formal rigor and aesthetic functionality coexist in the Blixen chair. The seat, comfortable and embracing, is composed of a unique leather element stretched with metal buckles, typical of FENDI men's accessories. One solution available in three versions: chair, lounge chair and conference.

PIERRE COFFEE AND SIDE TABLE
The Pierre coffee and side tables are defined by a streamlined design and a monolithic top. The external metal structure with its open surfaces and gunmetal finish, gives lightness and stability. The top is elegantly decorated by sophisticated details available in smoky glass or fine marble.

JANUS LAMP
The Janus table lamp is defined by a structure of curved tubular crystals combined in a circular shape and by an element in steel with a gunmetal finish. Two types of lighting, ambient or perimeter, are blended in a play of refraction creating an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere.
